I think the hate for Vivi has more to do with the fact that she doesn't know how to provide usefull information when it's actually needed. In fact, I couldn't even keep track of how many times she ended up saying 'sorry, i should have mentioned before'. She is supposed to be in training as the next ruler of the country, but she seemed to have the common sense of a wet noodle. You're right in that it did take her a looooooooooong time to smarten up, but I don't think any of that has to do with her being a woman, just her being an idiot, lol. Well, at least she's learning, so there's promise for her and the country :)
